Silver Work

 Silver processing and jewelry making is another important handicraft in Kahramanmaras, second only to gold processing and jewelry making. It is a very common occupation, especially in the county of Andir. During the era of the Ottoman Empire, various household utensils were produced here. In the 1400’s a silver grill was commissioned by M. Ali Paşa, the Governor of Maraş for the tomb of Mevlana which is now exhibited in Konya Mevlana Museum today.
