Ceyhan River

 Born in the Elbistan Plain, this river has a wide base that narrows as it flows into the narrow Ceyhan Valley. Near the vicinity of Sarıgüzel, it roughly turns south., where after south of Beşen it becomes very narrow and deep. It continues south through Koçlar and then southwestward near Kılavuzlu the valley expands and opens into the opens to the Kahramanmaraş Plain. Entering the plain, it continues flowing westward to the Ceyhan Valley, south of the Kahramanmaraş Plain before exiting southwest into a very narrow deep valley. The Ceyhan Valley, is roughly west of Kuşçu, out of provincial boundaries. Length of the Ceyhan River 509 km.
